Description
A musician at the court of King Louis XIV, Robert De Visée (1655-1732) was a theorbist, guitarist and even a gambist when he officiated at the court of Louis XIV. A “master” of these instruments according to the historian Fétis. We know of three collections of instrumental music by him. Two for guitar and one for theorbo and lute. This recording presents two suites for guitar (1716) and some pieces for theorbo (1686).
